Frequently Asked Questions

How much will your services cost?
Every job is different as every client’s needs are different. That’s why we offer complimentary consultations and detailed written estimates. We’ll tour your home with you and discuss ways we can help with your transition.

We offer services on an hourly basis. That gives you the flexibility to add or reduce services to suit your specific needs.

How are you different than other “movers?”
In fact, we are not movers. We supervise and provide hands-on service for all aspects of your transition including many beyond the scope of traditional movers. What’s important to us is that we become a true partner, almost a part of your extended family, to ensure that the end-result is a new home where you feel at home, surrounded and comforted by (albeit a smaller number of) your memories and treasures while at the same time enjoying a fresh, new living space. More importantly, we do that with care, compassion and patience and involve you in as much or as little of the process as you desire.

What if my house is so cluttered that I’m embarrassed to let you see it?
Clutter happens, and sometimes it gets a little out of control. We understand that and are committed to serving the needs of our clients in a respectful, compassionate and discreet manner. We can help you eliminate what you don’t need and develop creative strategies to keep things from getting out of hand in the future.

I’d like you to help my parents relocate, but I live out of state. How can I be a part of the process?
It can be very difficult when a mother, father or both of your parents need help with a transition and you’re unable to give them as much of your time as you’d like to because of obligations to your own family or work commitments. It’s even harder if you live at a distance from your parents. Using technology, we can enable you to participate in decision-making when you’re unable to be onsite in person.

Do I have to be present while you’re working?
Not unless you’d prefer to be. Many of our clients spend the first few days with us to make decisions, then either travel to their new home or leave on a vacation. We’re happy to keep you up-to-date on progress by email and telephone.

Who uses your services?
Our main customers are seniors who are downsizing to a new home or have a need to de-clutter, sometimes in anticipation of a future move. We also assist executors distributing estates and anyone else needing help with downsizing and transition services.
